Infrared Asphalt Repair on West Virginia Avenue in Lakewood
- Lakewood, CO
- Residential street edge
Asphalt Coatings Company used infrared repair on a long strip along the edge of West Virginia Avenue in Lakewood, where the street meets front lawns and driveway aprons. The new asphalt forms one dark band beside the older, cracked street surface, running past mailboxes and around the angles of each lawn. A plate compactor and a small double-drum roller worked on site, and cones kept traffic off the fresh patch.

Where the patch runs
The patch follows the street edge for several properties, meeting a different surface at almost every turn.

Lawn edges
New asphalt runs right up to the metal edging that borders each lawn.

Driveway aprons
At each driveway, the strip butts up against the edge of the concrete apron.

Storm drain
One end of the patch stops at a storm drain grate beside a concrete driveway.

Lawn corners
Past the mailboxes, the asphalt steps out to follow the angled lawn line.

Sidewalk edge
Farther along, a wide patch fills the gap between the sidewalk and the street.
Equipment on the street
Our crew compacted the new asphalt with a plate compactor at the edges and a small double-drum roller.
A row of cones and the crew truck held the work zone on the street side while the patch went in.
