Asphalt Coatings Company replaced concrete at Mountain Gate, an apartment community on West Mansfield Parkway in Lakewood. Several sidewalk sections came out first, and our crew staked wood forms around each opening.
The next day a concrete truck arrived for the trash enclosures. New pads went down inside the enclosure walls, and a broom-finished apron now covers the drive in front of one of them.

Forming the sidewalk repairs
Each removed sidewalk section was framed in wood and fitted with rebar dowels before any concrete arrived.

Staked boards outline the opening beside the pool fence.
Dowels
Rebar dowels reach from the neighboring slabs and curb into the opening.
Along the wall
Below a boulder retaining wall, two openings sit on either side of a slotted drain.
By the steps
Another formed run leads up to a set of yellow-edged steps.
Pouring the enclosure apron
The apron in front of one trash enclosure went in over three steps.
Dig out
The old surface in front of the enclosure was dug out down to the base.
Pour
Concrete ran down the truck chute while the crew spread it with rakes and shovels.
Finish
A broom texture and tooled joints finished the slab, which stayed behind cones and caution tape.
Pads inside the enclosures
Fresh concrete now covers the floor inside the enclosure walls, with the dumpsters rolled to one side.
The same pour also filled a dug-out area of the drive beside a row of garages.
