Concrete Sidewalks, Sealcoating and Striping at Retreat at Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs

Asphalt Coatings Company worked on the Retreat at Cheyenne Mountain apartments in Colorado Springs over about a month. We started by replacing worn concrete sidewalks that lead to the apartment doors.
About two weeks later, the crew sealcoated the parking lots and drives, striped them, painted the curbs red and marked the speed humps in bright yellow.

Replacing the sidewalks
The sidewalk work ran over three days, from tear-out to finished concrete.
Tear out
The crew dug out the old walks, which had loose rock along their edges.
Form
Wood forms and rebar then set the shape of each new walk.
Pour
On the second day, fresh concrete was spread into the forms and finished smooth.
Cure
Tape and cones kept residents off while the concrete cured, and the forms came off the next day.
Sealcoating and striping
Black sealcoat now covers the drives, the parking rows and the spaces under the carports. While each section dried, cones closed it off. White stall lines and ADA stalls were painted on top, and the curbs along the drives were painted red.
Yellow speed humps
Bright yellow speed humps cross the main drive and the lane by the carports. More were painted about two weeks after the sealcoating, with cones holding traffic back while the paint dried.
