Asphalt Paving at Boulder Rising in Boulder
- Boulder, CO
- Business park drive lane
Asphalt Coatings Company paved a new asphalt lane along the fence line at Boulder Rising, a business park on 38th Street in Boulder. The lane runs between two concrete curbs. Our crew dug it out and graded the base, then paved it the following day. About a week before that, the crew laid asphalt strips where new concrete met the drive at the entrance.

Building the new lane
The lane went from bare ground to new asphalt in four steps over two days.

Dig out
The crew dug out the strip between the new curb and the fence.

Grade
Next, the base between the curbs was graded smooth.

Check depth
A tape measure held against a string line checked the depth before paving.

Pave
The following day, new asphalt filled the lane from curb to curb.
Asphalt strips at the entrance
At the entrance, narrow asphalt strips fill the gap between fresh concrete and the existing drive.
These went in about a week before the lane was paved. Where the finished lane meets the older parking area, a patch ties the two surfaces together.
