New Concrete Walkway at Aurora Endoscopy in Aurora
- Aurora, CO
- Medical office building grounds
Asphalt Coatings Company built a new concrete walkway and a slab beside an outdoor stairwell at Aurora Endoscopy on East Evans Avenue in Aurora. The route ran through an overgrown planting bed along the brick building. On the first day the bed was cleared of trunks and roots. The concrete went in the next day, fed straight from a mixer truck parked behind the bed.

From planting bed to walkway
The walkway took two days: the ground was cleared and dug on the first, and the concrete poured on the second.

Mark the route
A white paint line across the rock bed showed where the new concrete would go.

Pull trunks and roots
A mini excavator lifted old tree trunks and roots out of the bed.

Dig the path
Working along the existing concrete edge, the excavator cut the path down to bare soil.

Pour and finish
The next day, concrete came off the mixer truck and the crew screeded and floated it toward the existing steps.
A slab by the stairwell
At the top of an outdoor stairwell, a new concrete slab now covers part of the rock bed. Wood forms held its edge against the remaining rock while it was finished.
