Asphalt Coatings Company milled and repaved drive lanes, patched worn pavement and restriped the parking at Hawthorne Hill, an apartment community on York Street in Thornton. On the first day the crew milled, paved and striped new asphalt by the leasing office and along the main drive. Patching filled the next two days. Nearly three weeks later, we came back to restripe the older parking rows, ADA stalls and stop bars across the property.

Milling and paving the main drive
The main drive and the lot at the leasing office were milled, paved and striped in one day.
Mill
A milling machine ground the old surface off the drive lanes.
Check depth
At the edge of the cut, a tape measure checked how deep the milling went.
Pave
Our paver then laid new asphalt along the curbs while the crew worked the edges by hand.
Roll
A roller compacted each pass of new asphalt.
Stripe
Stall lines and a blue ADA symbol went down on the new pavement the same day.
Patching worn pavement across the community
Over the next two days, our crew placed rectangular asphalt patches in drive lanes and parking rows that were not repaved.
The patches sit along curbs, beside garage rows and in the middle of worn drive lanes. A small roller compacted the new asphalt.
Restriping the older parking rows
Nearly three weeks after the paving, the crew restriped parking rows on the older pavement over four days.
ADA stalls
Blue accessible symbols and hatched access aisles mark the ADA stalls near building entrances.
Fresh paint
In one stall, the new ADA symbol sits just above the faded blue paint it replaced.
Walkway crossing
Where a sidewalk meets the lot, a hatched crossing keeps the gap between stalls clear.
Stop bars
A new white stop bar sits beside the stop sign at a lot exit.
