Asphalt Paving and Striping at Cherry Park in Louisville

Asphalt Coatings Company replaced the asphalt in the parking lot at Cherry Park on Cherry Street in Louisville, then striped it. The old pavement came out in broken slabs. Our crew shaped the base beneath it, paved the lot with new asphalt and painted fresh white stall lines on top.

Replacing the asphalt

The lot was rebuilt in five steps, from tear-out to rolling.

During
Cut and remove
A saw cut the old asphalt, and the broken slabs were lifted out and piled for hauling.
During
Clear the lot
With a skid steer and a dump truck, the crew cleared the lot beside the buildings down to the base.

Shape the base
Hand shovels evened out the base right up to the overhead doors.
Detail
Coat the edges
Before any new asphalt went down, the curb edges were coated black.
During
Pave and roll
New asphalt then went down, and a roller compacted it along the curb line.

Striping the new lot

White stall lines now run along the landscaped edges of the new pavement. In one row, the red layout line used to set out the stalls is still visible beside the paint.
