Concrete Lanes and Striping at Kiewit in Lone Tree
- Lone Tree, CO
- Office campus parking garage entry
Asphalt Coatings Company rebuilt the entry and gate lanes of the parking garage on the Kiewit campus at Trainstation Circle in Lone Tree. The work ran for about six weeks, with the garage open around it.
We started with concrete pads and aprons at the entry. The asphalt in the gate lanes came out next, and new concrete lanes and islands went in. Yellow curb paint, edge lines and white arrows finished it.

Entry pads and aprons
The first concrete went in at the garage entry over four days.

Mark
Orange paint marked the areas to be replaced beside the curb islands.

Reinforce
Once the old surface was out, the crew tied a rebar mat over the prepared base.

Cure
Fresh concrete was covered with plastic to cure.

Tie in
The next day the new apron met freshly coated black asphalt at the entry.
Rebuilding the gate lanes
About a week later, the crew rebuilt the lanes that run past the garage gates.

Saw-cut
A walk-behind saw cut the asphalt near the gate kiosks.

Break out
A skid steer broke up the old asphalt and cleared each lane to the base.

Form
Wood forms staked out the new island and the lane edges along the garage.

Pour
New concrete lanes then replaced the asphalt between the forms.
Curb paint and markings
Yellow paint now outlines the new islands and the edges of the gate lanes. White arrows and lane lines guide drivers in and out, and a crosswalk crosses the entry in front of the new island.
